These artists will work LIVE in a blind collaboration.
They will be put through CHALLENGES and asked to create in all kinds of MESSY ways.

Our Story
Hi, I’m not Sarah McLachlan. But what I am is a woman with long brown hair and a sultry singing voice, sitting here, writing these words you’re reading, asking–no, PLEADING–for your help.

Light some scented candles and check out this backstory:

In the autumn of 2008, Jaclyn Backhaus and Andrew Neisler joined together to create Fresh Ground Pepper- a safe space wherein emerging artists could share their unfinished work with a supportive audience, willing to offer feedback. By utilizing an open submission process, they created an environment where true collaboration could occur spontaneously, experimentation would be met with enthusiasm and work could be created that otherwise wouldn’t have been attempted.

Fresh Ground Pepper is now in its fourth year of featuring work by theatricals, musicians, choreographers, filmmakers, puppeteers, visual artists, comedians, media designers, buskers, chefs and creators of sport. Every month, FGP seeks to provide a completely unique experience.

And, most importantly: FGP does not charge artists to participate or audience to attend their events. Everything is FREE.
