Karina Martins is a Brooklyn based Producer and Manager. She has recently produced shows at Joe’s Pub, 59E59 Street, Ars Nova , 3LD Art & Technology Center and The Incubator, among others. She has also stage managed in dozens of locations including MOMA, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, The Skirball Center for the Arts and Cherry Lane Theater. She currently works as the Production Manager at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. While there she has helped to produce the annual Clifford Odets Ensemble Play Commission, where an emerging playwright is selected to create a brand new work for a specific class of graduating students. She also previously worked as the Company Manager at 3LD Art & Technology Center.
Karina received a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she studied directing and design at Playwrights Horizons Theater School. During her time there she learned the importance of collaboration and the excitement that comes from creating your own work. Karina is a co-founder and director of Fresh Ground Pepper, with whom she has curated events in venues all over New York City. She has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of artists in all mediums and to help foster the growth and development of their projects.
She also loves photography, designing props and almost anything to do with robots.
