6 new dance works. 6 new musicians. Paired at random.
March 6th, 2009
What happens when you give musicians a month to create 10 minutes of original music? What happens when you give choreographers a month to create 10 minutes of original dance? What happens when you put those musicians and choreographers in a room together for the first time. For one night only. In front of a full house? Fresh Ground Pepper answered these questions with the theatrical experiment of the year at Under St. Marks Theatre. Midnight CLASH, as a part of the FRIGID Festival Late Night Series, matched up 6 dancer/choreographers with 6 musicians/bands to create 6 short, brand new dance pieces that will only live in the moment they were created. No one knew what to expect, but the packed house left the east village at 3:00 am feeling inspired and invigorated.
